ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WROC) — Two people are recovering from their critical injuries after a shooting in Greece.

According to investigators, it began with a series of fights between teenagers Wednesday afternoon. Sometime after the second fight, police said someone shot multiple times into a home on Britton Road.

A 35-year-old woman was shot multiple times, and a 38-year-old man was hit at least once. Investigators said both were rushed into surgery and were listed in critical but stable condition Wednesday evening. As of Thursday afternoon, their injuries are no longer considered life-threatening.

One neighbor who spoke with News 8 off camera Thursday, says he was driving home from picking up his son when he saw the police presence on Britton Road. He claimed the teenagers fighting approached his car and started threatening him.

Thursday, Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich told News 8 this situation is “disheartening,” and he has been in communication with Greece Police.

“It would be unnerving for anyone to have to deal with this. It’s something we take extremely seriously. And I have the upmost confidence in our chief of police and all of the men and women who serve in the Greece police department that we will solve this. There will be an arrest,” Town Supervisor Reilich said.
