Primark has recalled nearly 3,000 plushies sold at store locations in the Northeast over concerns they could pose a choking hazard to children, according to a notice issued by the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
The recall, dated May 22, is for DTR “Stitch” plush bags sold in blue, and DTR “Angel” plush bags sold in purple, according to the regulatory agency.
The zipper pull on the back of the plush bags can detach, posing a risk of serious injury or death from choking and/or ingestion of the zipper pull, Primark has announced.

The bags were manufactured in China, and sold across the Northeast from March 2024 through October 2024 for about $6 each. They measure about 10 inches long and 8 inches wide, with a swing tag care label that hangs off the side of the bag.
Consumers should immediately take the recalled plush bags away from children, stop using them and return them to a Primark store for a full refund in the form of the original payment.

No injuries had been reported as of Thursday, the agency reported.
Primark can be reached from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, at 617-946-3236. Consumers can also visit primark.com and click “recall” at the bottom of the page for more information.
