GOP supporters are proclaiming “victory” for President Donald Trump after the Supreme Court ruled on Friday that his administration can revoke the temporary legal protections for half a million immigrants for now.
The justices blocked a lower-court order that provided protective status for around 500,000 immigrants from Cuba, Haiti, Venezuela and Nicaragua, who had been legally allowed to remain in the United States while their cases were debated in court. They entered through the “humanitarian parole” program during former President Joe Biden’s administration.
