"The Daily Show" legend Jon Stewart is not mincing words about ABC News' choice to let go of Terry Moran after a controversial tweet criticizing President Donald Trump.

Moran disclosed that he was cut from the network following his now-removed tweet that took aim at both the President and his senior advisor Stephen Miller, leading to a wave of fear among staff who have started "wiping everything" off their computers in response.

Stewart, known for his tenure as a host on the satirical late-night Comedy Central program where he often lampooned Trump, is targeting ABC News for their handling of the situation.

On an episode of The Weekly Show podcast, he slammed the network for axing Moran due to his tweet, calling it a "f------ joke," and mocking the idea that the network fancied itself as unbiased.

"Of course not. So stupid. No, for God's sake," he retorted when questioned if he supported the firing, reports the Irish Star.

"Literally every day on Fox News they're taking stuff out of context or their people are saying utterly vicious things about democratic politicians," he went on.

"The entire thing is because ABC clings to this facade that they somehow exist in a bubble outside all of this," he added.

Moran faced suspension from the network on Sunday right after posting the tweet, which labeled Trump and Miller as "world-class haters."

ABC made headlines recently when they decided not to renew Terry Moran's contract.

"We are at the end of our agreement with Terry Moran and based on his recent post–which was a clear violation of ABC News policies–we have made the decision not to renew," a network spokesperson announced in an official statement.

"Our reporters at ABC News are held to the utmost standards of objectivity, fairness, and professionalism, and we're dedicated to providing straightforward, reliable reporting," the statement further explained.

Having been a part of ABC News since 1997 as a senior national correspondent, Moran received accolades for executing a hard-hitting interview with Trump during the President's initial 100 days, conducted inside the Oval Office where the atmosphere intensified at times, although Moran was commended for his probing questions and tenacious follow-ups.

After being released from his role, Moran quickly embraced Substack as a new venue to connect with his audience and disseminators of news.

"I'm here, with you, on Substack, this amazing space," he expressed in a video shared on platform X. "And I can't wait to get at it, to get at the important work that we all have to do in this time of such trouble for our country. I'm gonna be reporting and interviewing and just sharing from you, and hoping to hear from you as well."
